Buses in Brazil

The bus ride between Foz do Iguacu and Florianopolis takes approximately 15 hours. Thanks to the good condition of the roads, passengers are able to relax and even sleep. Even though there are regular flights, bus travel is preferred by many since it is cheaper and easy to arrange.

 

The two companies offering the Foz to Florianoplos direct route, and all of them depart from Rodoviaria Internacional de Foz do Iguacu (Foz's main bus terminal), arriving at Rodoviária de Florianopolis (Florianopolis's main bus terminal):

• Leito - almost full recline

• Convencional - Semi-bed half recline

 

The majority of travel is done on a highway and there is little that is remarkable on the road. Since the two cities are very different, the most interesting scenery occurs when departing or approaching each area.

 

Remember to arrive to the Foz Terminal at least 40 minutes before the scheduled departure because you will need to redeem your ticket at the Ticket Desk of your chosen company;  there they will also tell you which is the boarding platform for this particular trip. We suggest you to take something to drink and eat since there are no snacks or drinks onboard and some of the buses won’t stop at all. Also take a coat or jacket with you as the air conditioning is usually very strong. All the buses are equipped with onboard W/C.
